These terms may be useful when referring to  ELEPHANT GARLIC:
ELEPHANT GARLIC PLANT:  The entire plant just as it is in the ground or when dug out of the ground at harvest time.  The whole plant can be hung up for 6-8 weeks to dry. When the
leaves turn brown and brittle the bulb can be cut off the stem and separated into cloves for eating or planting
ELEPHANT GARLIC BULB: The whole garlic bulb with the stem and leaves removed.
Usually 2-3 inches of the stem are left on above the bulb for easy handling. The dried garlic
bulb can be separated into cloves ( usually 4-6 cloves ) for eating or planting.
ELEPHANT GARLIC CLOVE: The dried garlic bulb can be separated into CLOVES ( usually 4-6 cloves ) for eating or planting. Planting the largest cloves produces larger bulbs at harvest
    time.
CORMS: Small pointy seeds, a little smaller than a dime, which are attached to the underside
of the garlic bulb. Corms can be replanted but will take several years to make a small
    garlic bulb.
GARLIC ROUNDS: Small solid round garlic bulbs which can't be separated. Rounds
appear after planting corms or small cloves. Rounds can be eaten or replanted to   produce
bulbs the next year at harvest time.
GARLIC SCAPES: Tall flower stems growing out of the garlic plant 4-6 weeks before harvest.
For larger garlic bulbs, cut off the scapes before they flower. Scapes can be sliced and eaten,
like green onions, but with a garlic flavor.
GLOBE: If left to flower, the scapes will produce a large ball of purple flowers 2-3 in. across
    called a GLOBE.
