    Description

A hard-neck variety, this garlic can also be used as garlic-leeks when the tops are about one foot tall. It has a mild taste and is a great addition to soups and stews when serving. The cloves are easily peeled with your fingers! You will never know, when harvesting, if there will be a bulb made up of cloves or just one big solid bulb. This garlic has a mild pleasant flavor without the harsh bite of some other varieties.
This species will naturalize and I picked a permanent spot for it forty three years ago and never have had to replant. I just put a foot of mulch over the plot after harvest, pull a few weeds, and it comes back, from missed cloves and the corms that form on the roots,
    for next years harvest.
A species in the Allium family, I obtained a start about 1972 from an elderly Creole gentleman in Golden Meadow, Louisiana.
Grown on Crickhollow Organic Farm established in 1979.
