How to Care for Colorado Blue Spruce Trees:
If you live an a hotter climate you'll want to plant these in partial shade as they do not withstand excessive heat. They can grow in large containers as well. Colorado blue spruce trees thrive in cold weather. They live for 100's of years. Best is, these trees are really easy to care for. They grow in much any soil type (even clay). Their roots are very strong. Simply ensure proper drainage. Fertilize in spring. Avoid exposing young seedlings to freezing temperatures their first winter.
    Germination Procedure:
Scarify the seeds by placing them in a glass of water for 24 hours. Next, sow the seeds on the surface of the soil in 55-70 degree temperatures. Gently press the seeds to no more than 1/4 an inch down. Lightly cover. Keep seeds and soil moist during the germination phase (45-60 days).
