Upgrade your listening experience with an acrylic platter.
An acrylic platter decreases wow & flutter effects due to its higher mass which increases rotational inertia.
Acrylic provides a cleaner and more detailed sound by minimizing unwanted vibrations as a result of its high density and low stiffness.
It is recommended that you place records directly on the acrylic platter with no mat to take full advantage of the properties of acrylic.
Dimensions: Diameter: 11.8 inches (300mm), Thickness: 0.87 inches (22mm), Weight: 3lb, 5.4oz (1514 grams), Diameter of center hole: 0.71 inches (18mm), Diameter of carved out space under platter: 7.13 inches (181mm). There is a large carved out area underneath to leave room for the belt drive system that sits under and inside the edges of the platter. This is not for a turntable where the belt goes around the diameter of the platter.
Many turntables come with a more basic entry-level platter. Upgrading to an acrylic platter is one of the best options to improve the sound quality of your turntable. Acrylic offers a great combination of qualities that make it a great platter option. It is dense and not overly stiff. The density helps to decrease wow and flutter and the density combined with the low stiffness helps provide a clean sound with less static. As a further benefit, acrylic looks great, and can work well with lighting effects if you have any such accessories.
