Antique ART DECO Bakelite Belt BUCKLE Clasp Swirl End of Day Red Green Geometric

Here is a fabulous Art Deco belt buckle.
Designed as two trapezoids which fit together perfectly.
They are mostly dark red with swirls of olive green and black throughout. These are very reminiscent of end of day glass and plastics. When clasped together, it measures 2 1/4" wide x 1" tall. This has a geometric design which was very popular throughout the Art Deco Era. I believe this is Bakelite but I have not tested it. There are findings on the back; both the loops for the belt material and the hook and eye clasp closure. The metal is somewhat corroded but are sturdy and utilitarian. Great for jewelry crafts, restoration of Art Deco era clothing or sewing. A unique buckle found in an antique button collection.
