I have owned this preamp for a little over 12 years. From the moment I hooked it up in my system(B&W active speakers, Linn Sondek Turntable, California Audio DAC and Transport) I fell in love with it. It has superb sound qualities and enough features to satisfy most audiophiles. Plus it it has a lovely tube sound you can't help but marvel at. But alas, about 1 1/2 years ago the power supply board quit functioning. I sent it in to Cary for repairs and they informed me they no longer had the boards therefore could not repair it. At the same time another SLP 2002 came up for sale on Ebay and I purchased it with the idea I would hang on to this one for parts.
Once I got my old unit back it sat around for a couple of months when I asked a local electronic repairman I have used for some years now if he would like a shot at repairing it. He takes his time as he is very busy but he was able to fix the unit by replacing the power supply board parts(see pictures). Now the unit has spent the last couple of weeks in my system and sounds great. The unit will be shipped with a copy for the service receipt, the replaced parts, and any additional documentation.

, but please notice my feedback rating to rest assured you will be pleased with this transaction. There are some nicks on the face of the unit but nothing major for a unit of it's age. I have included pictures. All functions are operating correctly however the input selector switch makes some noise when switching inputs and the tape monitor switch has been replaced. I have a new input selector switch/board which I acquired fro Cary and will include it with the unit upon sale. I am not going to replace the old one because the unit is functioning just fine with it. Input switch and tape monitor switch were purchased from Cary and will include copies of the receipts. I don't have a remote for the unit as I am using the one I have for my other unit and will keep it. Also included will be the manual originally included. I emphasize this unit is worth putting the effort in to bring it up to top notch condition, I just don't want to put the additional time/money needed to accomplish this. That is why my listing price is what it is.
I do not have the original Cary boxes however it will be securely packaged and sent via the shipping service you choose.

This preamp has 2 RCA outputs, 1 XLR output, RCA and XLR Cinema input, 4 RCA component inputs, 1 XLR component input, CD RCA input, and CD XLR input.
