    Description

    Here is a Dell Travan TR7 tape drive with an IDE interface in a with a black bezel.  It was designed to back up to 20 GB of data on a single 750 foot Travan 640 cartridge, or up to 40GB using 2:1 data compression.  The manufacturer's model number, STT2401A was used for a half height 5.25" drive by Seagate, Certance, or Quantum, depending on which corporation owned the tape drive division at any given time.
    I am unable to test this drive but I note that it is recognized by my Phenom II x4 testbed as a 3.5" STT3401A (the 3.5" x 1" version of this drive)
