**The amount of seeds in each bag was calculated using an online poppy seed calculator. The basis being that there are  3,350 seeds in each gram. All of my bags contain a better minimum of 2grams most of the bags are 3g or close to it. I have a generous hand**
This is the largest of the papaver somniferum variety. Gemination rate is 95-98%. These are American grown, organically and unwashed. These are some of the easiest poppy seed to grow. Just make sure to plant them in the ground and not in a starter container as they are very difficult to transplant. To plant them, they need little more than to be scattered and watered (gently). They do best not under direct sunlight and not in extreme hot temps. They won't be happy under constant direct summer sun. They do best with dimpled sunlight all day like getting their light through the leaves of a big tree. Also, Be carful when first planted not to be aggressive with watering. Use a watering can or hose attachment, the lightest and most gentle you can find. Even steam like would be wonderful to water with initially. As, if the seed gets buried too far under the dirt (and that's not very far at all. Even an inch is too far) it won't be able to find it's way to the surface and it will die. Regular or heavy watering will cause that.
Once the plants are about an inch high, you can water normally. They're very durable and strong by that size.
