Description
I am unsure of the origin of this very unusual vase. My suspect is European, possibly Italian or Czechoslovakian. I also believe that it was produced in the last half of the 20th century, most likely in the 60s or 70s. It is a very unusual item as the stem is twisted and actually fused to the cup and the base. It has a pattern similar to cut velvet satin glass but is actually on the inside of the vase. The vase stands just over 9 1/2” tall with an opening of 4 3/4” across. The base measures about 4 1/2” diameter. Well balanced and stout, it can hold a nice size bouquet of freshly cut flowers. There are no chips, cracks, damage or repairs and this item appears to not have been used since there is no water etching or staining on the inside. As pictured, it glows brilliantly in ultraviolet light. Please view all pictures as they are considered part of the description. Please check back to my listings often as I will be posting numerous fine examples of glass, pottery and porcelain in the near future.
Thank you.
