Jewelweed (Impatiens Capensis)
Jewelweed (or spotted touch-me-not); annual plant native to North America.
Likes shady spots with moist soil.
Seeds are projectile - meaning they explode out of the pods when they are lightly touched; consequently, they easily self-seed.
Jewelweed is a natural remedy for skin rashes, especially poison ivy; helps to heal insect bites fast. I heal my tick bites with Jewelweed.
Hummingbirds are the main pollinators, but other insects like bees and bumblebees can pollinate as well.
Seeds are edible and taste like nuts.
