An American native plant hailing from Mexico, the nasturtium has been a hybridizer's favorite for years. Cooks enjoy them since the flowers are edible, and make wonderful decorations for cakes and pastries. All nasturtiums trail somewhat, but this is the more upright version, not the long-trailing one often used in baskets. A low-growing border plant with bright colored flowers in yellow, orange, and red. Flowers (and leaves) are edible and taste similar to watercress, add them to salad for a punch of color. Prefers cool, mild conditions. Easy to grow and blooms quickly.
