Sport Media is the same as Data Media only shorter for quicker access time.  Do not confuse this with VolSave Media which is like WORM media, Write Once Read Many

What is a Sport cartridge?
The Sport cartridge is a cartridge containing shorter amount of recording media, which has been specifically designed for applications where faster access is a prime consideration.  These are Sport Cartridges.  The Average file access time and maximum rewind time are almost 3 times faster or more as compared to the standard data cartridges.
