Sold as shown so please view all pics. We could find nothing even remotely resembling these stunning buckles. The look like a very expensive type of plastic~possibly a
gutta-percha
~there are deep brown overtones. We stuck every possibility into the title in hopes that someone would know. They are truly gorgeous and unusual and are definitely from the victorian to art deco period. They need a cleaning but we will not attempt to clean them.
The other, simple buckle is part of the grouping, but the plastic is not as expensive or quality feeling as the turtles. They were found together so together they will remain.
Minor wear is par for the course in vintage and antique pieces so please do not expect "like new" perfection.
