Red Valerian is one of the easiest plants to grow. it is an outstanding perennial with salmon-rose flowers that appear along 3' tall stems. they have a copious abundance of flowers, blooming from late spring and re-blooming to fall. it seems like they will bloom forever. they are pretty and rugged in dry soil or regular garden soil, not moist soil. they grow well in dry rock gardens, thriving in inhospitable places, exposed places, poor soil,  anywhere but damp shade.
