This is our all new Dual Filter Sock Holder Raceway Sump/Refugium Pro baffle kit for 20 gallon Long Aqueon® glass tanks with adjustable water depth.

This 20 gallon kit is latest addition to our premium Pro Line of sump/refugium kits.  The pro line offers unique features which give you exceptional control over your sump flow. This Raceway configuration provides the ultimate in flow control through your sump/refugium section. The raceway baffle creates a perforated channel for the water passing through the sump which directly connects the sock section to the return pump section.  The channel is only 1" wide, leaving a maximum amount of room for the refugium space. The perforations (1/4" holes) in the raceway baffle allow water to enter the refugium section.  The water level baffle at the end of the raceway has an adjustment block which allows the flow through the raceway to be regulated.  Decreasing the flow through the raceway will increase the flow through the refugium section. The level baffle also has an adjustment plate to control the water level (6 - 9") in the refugium section.  Different combinations of adjustments between the raceway and refugium adjustment plates provides infinite flow possibilities in your sump include:
1.) Low (6" or less) water level with no refugium flow (refugium baffle down, raceway baffle open to partially closed)

Limiting the flow through the refugium section provides a better environment for growing Cheato, pods and other critters. It also helps skimmer efficiency by increasing dwell time with the surrounding water.
Included are all the parts you'll need to convert a standard glass Aqueon® brand 20 gallon long aquarium into a fully functioning raceway sump or refugium for your display aquarium.  All you'll need is the glass aquarium, some aquarium safe silicone and a pair of filter socks that suits your filtration needs.

Fully assembled dual 4" sock holder.  Joints are Weld-On bonded prior to shipment for maximum strength and durability
6" - 9" adjustable baffle with 1/4" back tapered slots for coarse water filtering, water depth adjustment and quiet overflow control
Adjustment baffle also allows for variable adjustment of raceway flow.  Adjustments can be even top to bottom, or tapered favoring high or low flow.
Bubble trap plate
Two 1" filter plates which can go in between the secondary baffle and bubble trap plate.  These units allow you to suspend filter foam between the two plates to trap bubbles and particles escaping the main refugium/equipment section.  These are self supporting so the distance between the secondary baffle and the bubble trap plate is not defined by the width of the filter plate allowing you to set your place distance based on how much extra filter material you'll need.  Minimum distance is 1"

There are 4 options for raceway length, choose the one which provides the correct space needed for your return pump.
Installation is simple.  Using aquarium safe silicone, silicone the parts into your 20 gallon long glass tank and allow 24 hours to dry.
NOTE:  This is designed specifically for Aqueon® 20 gallon long glass aquariums.  If your tank is not an Aqueon or you don't know for sure, please contact us prior to ordering with your tank inside dimensions.  To measure the inside, use calipers or trim a dowel rod or rigid piece of cardboard until it fits between the front and back glass of the tank while parallel to the bottom.  Message us with that length and we can confirm if it will fit.
