98-era desktops and laptops in working condition are rare and expensive.
This is an XP-class Toshiba laptop (m35-s359) with more memory, faster
CPU, and larger (40GB Seagate replacing the original broken 60GB) hard
disk that has been retrofitted with windows 98
Second Edition, with multiple
(hard-to-find) drivers loaded that provides the ability to copy SparQ cartridge
data to USB thumb drives for data retreival.
included:
1. Copy of the starter SparQ cartridge, listing for D: (~700MB) files show this.
2. Mouse
is included without batteries (you supply) if you don't like the toshiba
track pad.
3. Special Toshiba power supply (15v, 5 amps) included.
4. Syquest Parallel Port SparQ system in custom case
a. power supply, AC cable, parallel port cable
b. SparQ cartridge system
c. most important - shoulder strap for custom case.
the battery has been replaced and provides about half-an-hour power BUT
caution: machine is almost 20 years old, the software is older, the SparQ
is also old, and taking it out and treating it like a 2022 laptop is playing
with fire. i suggest this system stays set-up at home and not moved
because the SparQ system is AC-powered and not portable.
lastly, there will be a two-page document outlining the steps to set-up
and start copying the SparQ carts to a USB.
