This is a gorgeous Vaseline Opalescent Glass Hen On Nest.  The glass a bright canary yellow that shows the pressed pattern beautifully. There is a thin edge of creamy pale yellow that runs around the outer edge of the nest and also on hen's crown and edge of tail.
It is real vaseline glass and turns bright neon under a black light.
Really showy!
The hen has her head turned slightly and a split tail. The detail work in the glass is fantastic with tiny pin feathers and silky neck feathers to tiny eggs tucked under the hen's breast. The nest is ribbed. Has a wide flat edge with woven design.
Originally made as a covered candy dish. Makes an excellent jewelry and ring holder.
Stands appx 5" tall and is 6-1/2" long by 5-1/2" wide.
New/Old Stock and in mint condition.
An excellent example of hand made pressed glass.
