  • Condition: This item is in good condition, appears to have its original three legs, no apparent repairs, restoration noted, No noted dents, metal failure, cracks, fractures. Not signed/stamped, probably Middle East region,probably made in Mid Century era. Has detailed overall floral vine pattern, pierced sides. Center cup inside of bowl still in place; lid is very tight-fitting; we were not able to remove it. This item is designed to hold coals/embers inside bowl, lid put back on & as metal would warm, so would your feet. We are not sure this was ever used like that, feel it is a very decorative & solid footstool as it is, not sure anyone would want to mess with coals, cleanup, etc. Three decoratively shaped legs are attached w/screws, some brass screws new. Some slight surface scratches and age/use wear noted, with possibly the original patina on metal. Measures: 12.5 " tall, 14.5 " across. Top is slightly concave so that it can be used as a very low seat as well.See photos for details

    MEASURES: 12.5 inches tall, 14.5 inches in diameter across footstool seat; made of brass with stylized overall floral and vines decoration on top, and pieced traditional lattice-work sides. Has three legs fastened with replaced brass screws, everything else is original.  Item appears to have original patina as well, with legs slightly lighter in color and tone.  Solid metal, made in the Middle East, probably either India or East Mediterranean area, where decorative metalwork has a centuries-old history and is valued. Not hallmarked or stamped, typical of items exported to the US from that area of the world.  In lovely vintage condition and an item that will last forever, and be as beautiful when forever comes as it is today!
