    These are great little transistors, with a very substantial 300 volt rating that most small general-purpose transistors can't match, a respectable healthy current gain of 40, a healthy continuous current of 500ma, and, for my money, the best pinout ― the American EBC pinout.  And, unlike the "Free Shipping" from most of the others selling these parts, you won't have to wait a month to get them.
    As you can see, the MPSA42 uses the American style pinout.  You must keep this in mind when selecting all your transistors, as mixing them or replacing one pinout style with another is almost impossible.
